*** Interstate 60 "It began as a wish, became an adventure, and ended as the ultimate road trip." Filming wrapped last October, Chris plays Bob Cody, presumably a cameo role. No release date yet. Filmed in Phoenix, AZ, and Toronto, Canada. "A road movie for the millennium, "Interstate 60" is the story of a young man, whose confusion about the future course of his life leads him on a wild journey on a road that doesn't exist on any map." Also featuring James Marsden, Gary Oldman, Christopher Lloyd, Ann-Margret, Michael J. Fox, Daniel Kash, and Kurt Russell.
*** Adaptation "An account of screenwriter Charlie Kaufman's (Cage) attempt to adapt Susan Orlean's (Streep) non-fiction book The Orchid Thief, which is the story of John Laroche (Cooper), a plant dealer who clones rare orchids then sells them to collectors. We see the action of the book as we see Kaufman struggle to adapt it into a movie. This is presumably a somewhat true story, as Charlie Kaufman is the real life screenwriter of Adaptation. " Chris plays John Laroche. Also features Meryl Streep, Nicolas Cage, John Cusack, and Catherine Keener. Slated for release in Belgium on 6 March 2002 and in The Netherlands on 7 March 2002. Filming locations included Santa Barbara, CA. $19 million budget. TBR Fall 2001. John Turturro was in talks to play Laroche. Chris is now playing the role. This film is currently in production. I will note that Jeremy Sumpter, the child actor playing the young John Laroche is actually credited on the IMDB right now as playing 'Young Chris Cooper'.
